Why not add one of our weathervanes to your motor house, garage, shed, man cave, home or outbuilding.  Select one of our existing designs or contact us about customising with a representation of your very own vintage car or almost anything else.  We can generate a unique silhouette using a photograph supplied by you or work from your design brief.  See our dedicated page here.

Efficient function is carefully considered in the design so that operation is effective in only a light breeze.  Being manufactured in 316 stainless steel, commonly referred to as marine grade, they are highly corrosion resistant for a long trouble free life and are engineered to last.  We're passionate about having superb quality engineered products and are absolutely sure that these weathervanes will not be surpassed by anything in a comparable price range on the market.  Supplied ready for easy final self-assembly.

Longhouse Design Ltd. was started in 2017 by William Twelvetrees to support his creative mechanical design work and the manufacture and sale of weathervanes to his own engineered design in stainless steel.  These weathervanes are the company's first product but it is intended to add further products using similar materials and manufacturing techniques.  Will is supported in the business by his wife Zoe and father Roger.  The company is based near to Sleaford in rural Lincolnshire, in the UK.

Will is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who graduated with a 1st class degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMIST in 2002.  After graduation he gained experience in the packaging of rugged electronic systems for naval applications before in 2005 moving to work for a well known company supplying ancillaries manufactured using engineered polymers to the offshore oil and gas industry.  The opportunity to work independently arose in 2013 by which time Will had become a Functional Excellence Champion for Design Engineering and had risen to the level of Senior Engineer in the Product Development and Innovation team.

Roger and William share an enthusiasm for vintage cars, both being competing members of the Vintage Sports Car Club.  This led latterly to a project to recreate a factory racing car built by Wolseley circa 1911 to break distance records.  The car was built up using a 'heap' of period Wolseley 16/20 components and a series of original photographs for inspiration and guidance, the car being reverse engineered as closely as possible from the photographs.  Many parts of the car and body were 3D modelled by Will to be sure that the finished article would be a fitting tribute to the original.  Some of the work involved is illustrated on this website, if you have a similar project where you think 3D modelling would be helpful please do not hesitate to get in touch.
